About the Architect: AAron Ackerman, Bowers+Kubota
Bringing 15 1/2 years of experience to Bowers + Kubota, Mr. Ackerman received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design with a special emphasis in Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder. As Sustainability Facilitator at B+K, Mr. Ackerman is a crucial team leader in the firm’s coordinated approach to environmental stewardship, and is the lead on the majority of projects seeking U.S.G.B.C. LEED Certification and/or the Living Building Challenge.
Mr. Ackerman navigates projects from a multi-disciplinary approach striving to identify and choreograph equilibrium between economic, environmental and social priorities. Mr. Ackerman has made it his responsibility to identify creative and sound opportunities to work within the budget to accommodate the project’s sustainability goals while maintaining functionality and efficiency within the built environment.
Reverence to place will always guide and inspire the architecture Ackerman creates. Driven by innovation and utilizing his past experience as a carpenter, he is currently pursuing certification of his own residence through the International Living Future Institute’s Living Building Challenge Certification Program, recognized industry wide as the most progressive green building program in the world.
Over the past 15 1/2 years, Bowers+Kubota has helped mentor and sculpt Ackerman to be the Architect he is today, sending him to the most progressive green building conferences in the World where Aaron could expand his professional resources and network while being exposed to the most cutting-edge green buildings, technologies and products on the globe.
